The AMSI program prepared me for the beginning of my career. The diverse classes offered in this degree allowed me to explore different avenues within the Advanced Manufacturing and Aerospace industry. I gained practical, hands-on experience with 3D printers, and was able to directly apply those skills during my internship with Lockheed Martin. The advisors and professors I have met along the way have been passionate about their teachings and want their students to succeed. With determination, hard work, and the willingness to go above and beyond, the AMSI program will set you up for a successful career in the growing Advanced Manufacturing Industry.

The AMSI program helped me quite a bit in first understanding the direction I wanted to take. The classes you take create a broad skill set that you can apply to many different manufacturing sectors. The CNC and 3D printing classes helped me to see first-hand the types of tools that are used in the aerospace industry. The Aerospace Systems Project and Mission Scheduling course, a class that I took for my aerospace concentration, helped me prepare directly for the career I am in today. I was prepared to start my career as soon as I graduated.

The resources available to students through the AMSI Program have helped me and several other students reach their dreams. Through the AMSI program, I acquired technical and Interpersonal skills that industries actively look for. The different concentrations allow students to follow their interests. The courses in the MET concentration allowed me to compete with other potential engineers in the market and helped tremendously during my internship with Ball Corporation, and is helping even more with starting my career with Gogo Business Aviation. Choosing the AMSI program has changed my life. The people you’ll meet, the skills you can learn, and the opportunities available are limitless.

I'm really glad this program exists because it ended up being exactly what I was looking for when I decided to change majors to manufacturing. My favorite class is actually tied between three different classes; that would be the CNC Machine Routing Class, the Stratasys 3D Printing Class, and Intro to Composites. They're all the fun ones where you get to play with all the big toys!
